Janhvi Kapoor’s lavish Chennai home is now available for fans to rent – Details inside

Janhvi Kapoor’s childhood home in Chennai, once owned by her late mother, Sridevi, is now available for a one-night stay through Airbnb’s Icons program.

According to People, Janhvi Kapoor will welcome ‘select’ Airbnb users to her mansion, offering them a chance to engage in conversations about her ‘favourite beauty hacks’ and savour authentic South Indian cuisine. Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky emphasised the uniqueness of this experience, describing it as ‘the most intimate access to the most famous family in Bollywood.’

Sridevi purchased the Chennai mansion after marrying producer Boney Kapoor, marking it as their first family home adorned with artefacts and paintings from around the world.

The actor shared with the magazine, “In Mumbai, I’m never really at peace because it’s where work happens. I only come home to sleep. Even if I get a day off, it’s never really relaxing because there are always phone calls to return. In Chennai, on the other hand, my cousins come home to meet me. There isn’t much work I can do because there’s no one’s office that I need to go to for a meeting. There’s essentially nothing to do except spend time by myself and with my family. I feel like I can hit the pause button and pull myself together. Dad’s also always in a great mood here, so it’s nice to just laze around.”

Despite its charm, the mansion faced maintenance issues and had to be temporarily closed down. Janhvi finds solace in her Chennai residence, contrasting it with her bustling life in Mumbai, where work often dominates her time and attention.

Following Sridevi’s passing in 2018, Boney Kapoor undertook the task of renovating the mansion, preserving its legacy. In a Vogue India tour, Janhvi offered glimpses into the mansion, showcasing its cosy living spaces, personal memorabilia, and a special ‘secret room.’

The home also features artworks by Janhvi and her sister Khushi, created during the lockdown, adding a personal touch to the space.
